Thala and Shaun are joined by freelance French rugby journalist, James Harrington (@Jamesonrugby) to take a deep dive look into the recent success of the French rugby team.
We review France's nail-biting victory over Ireland in Round 2 of the Six Nations, the strengths and weaknesses of the team, whether they can win a Grand Slam, how Fabien Galthie and the FFR have fixed France rugby and even talk about the Top 14 and whether marquee South African players have a future there after the announcement that Eben Etzebeth will leave Toulon at the end of the season.

The full squad is here to look back at an entertaining first week of the 2022 Six Nations, the South African URC games and talk about the state of South African rugby.
We discuss impressive Irish and Scottish performances, Jared says some nice things about Josh van der Flier, whether Pivac made a mistake selecting Josh Adams at center, Thala has a scorching take on the Scottish tight five and why England doesn't need to panic and they need to listen to Shaun.
We are also trying to figure out how the Stormers became the top side in the South African conference of the URC. Kooks leads a discussion on the state of South African rugby and whether having so many competitions happening at one time (URC, Currie Cup, age-group competitions, Varsity Cup, etc.) is good for the local game.

We take an in-depth look at Wales ahead of the Six Nations with Will Owen of Squidge Rugby fame.
We discuss how Wayne Pivac's term as head coach has gone so far, how Wales will deal with the injuries to many senior players and the youngsters ready to step up, how the Wales team will look for the tournament, his thoughts on Wales' first game with Ireland and a prediction for this year's Six Nations.
Hear Will's thoughts on why he is excited about Ben Carter, what makes Nick Tompkins a 'crazy-fun' player, if playing Josh Adams at 13 is a good idea and Will and Kooks share a moment in their love for Finn Russell.

Jared, Shaun and Thala host a Twitter Space on 31 January 2022 to do a team-by-team preview of the 2022 Six Nations, who they think will win it all and who will be player of the tournament.

The team then praises the Blitzboks and their record-equaling streak of 34 wins in a row. How do they get things right in their structures even though they lose players and coaches to 15s?

We end with a quick review of the Stormers and Sharks draw and the Bulls victory over the Lions in week 11 of the United Rugby Championship.

Welcome to the RugbyBits family

RugbyBits was started by four South African guys (Jared, Kuhle, Shaun and Thala) who love the game of rugby. It was created to provide a platform for people not in the mainstream ruby media to discuss and debate what is going on in the rugby world. Our weekly podcasts will look mainly at South African rugby, but it will cover international teams and competitions such as the Rugby Championship, Six Nations, United Rugby Championship, Champions and Challenge Cup, Super Rugby, Currie Cup amongst many others. Join us as we debate the contenders and pretenders in the rugby universe, as we focus on South Africans performing well in international competitions in our #SaffasAbroad section and we try to fix the issues in the game we love, podcast by podcast.
